Streaming War Stories and More with VET TV's Donny O'Malley
In Episode 61, Tyler and Jon discuss Google's integration of the key moments feature that will allow you to start watching a video at given moments when useful content starts and will "skip right to the good stuff" for you. Tyler also predicts that the same functionality will work for podcasts in the near future.
Then, Tyler welcomes Donny O’Malley, the CEO and Founder of VET TV, into the studio.
Donny’s career began in the military, where his time was cut short due to being placed on medical retirement. He used this opportunity to follow his passion for writing and began working on a book in order to build an audience. His passion to give back to the veteran community led to the creation of a nonprofit called Irreverent Warriors, which later transformed into VET TV.
Donny covers the process of growing his audience from nothing to 40,000 paid monthly subscribers by putting out content that resonates with his target audience. He goes on to share what it takes to create amazing content and how to effectively compete for attention against streaming giants like Netflix and Hulu.
After providing an incredible amount of value throughout the interview, Donny shares his biggest takeaway on content creation.
Join Tyler, Jon, and Donny for more insight on how to build a brand and a loyal following through email and content marketing.
